I spent my early adult life as a professional musician, playing countless gigs and recordings over 15+ years with a wide range of musical artists 

Select Music Biography

Mid 1980s: Non-stop gigging across middle America with a now-defunct 10 piece-horn band from Milwaukee called First Class; gigs with jazz pianist David Hazeltine and organist Melvin Rhyne (of the original Wes Montgomery group)

Late 80s – Early 90s: studied music briefly at UW-Madison with jazz bassist Richard Davis, followed by a stint at Berklee College of Music, studying drums with Joe Hunt, the the late Ed Uribe.

1991- 1998: Moved to New York City. Worked with local blues guitarists/vocalists Bill Sims, Popa Chubby, Grant Green Jr., Frankie Paris & Cold Sweat (1998 recording Right Around the Corner), Pat Cisarano, Dana Fuchs (2008 recording Live in NYC), among others.

1992-2005: Recorded numerous commercial jingles, industrials and TV shows

1993: Michael McDermott, North American Tour (SBK Records)

1994: Featured drummer on best-selling sample CD NYC Drumworks (Sampleheads)

1994-1997: Member of original band Choosy Mothers; local residencies at NYC clubs such as the Wetlands, Mondo Cane, toured clubs and colleges in North America. Multiple independent recordings with over 15k units sold.

1995: Composing, arranging, keyboard and drum programming for all-star jazz band The Fantasy Band featuring Dave Samuels (Shanachie Records)

1995-96: Toured North America, Europe, Singapore, Japan, Turkey, and Brazil with Gloria Gaynor. Performed at 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.

1995: Toured and recorded (drums) with saxophonist Mark Johnson (1996, Deep Focus, JVC Records)

1995-1996: Toured (on drums) and recorded with percussionist George Jinda
(composer, arranger, keyboards and drum programming) on Shanachie Records release, Between Dreams

1995-1996: toured and recorded with jazz fusion band Special EFX (composer, arranger, keyboards and drum programming) on JVC Records release, Here to Stay

1995-1999: Several European and Japanese tours, dates across North America and South America, and numerous TV shows with Bo Diddley; played in house band at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland, Ohio, backing up artists such as Little Richard, Ike Turner, George Clinton, Ruth Brown, the Stylistics and Joe Walsh.

1998: Toured Argentina with pianist Johnnie Johnson

2000: Recorded a gold record with Japanese pop group My Little Lover (Avex Trax Records), which spawned a top ten single, Shooting Star.
